Do it yourself?

We have seen a significant decrease in staging clients over the last few years.  I am so personally bored and put out with the 'it's the economy' aspect of it all I leave that to those who think they know.

Likely one thing that has caused changes in the staging business is HGTV.  Why pay someone to do it when you can do it yourself?  Right?  Not necessarily!

You can follow the steps one by one but the average homeowner will not achieve the best aspect for viewing.  It takes a professional and unsentimental eye.

I was watching one of the shows on TV today where a young couple were shopping for their first home.  There was a lot of shag carpet and funky colors in their price range but they and the realtor were realistic about changes that would need to be made.  In a room in one house there was such a big old red flag and no one mentioned it.  Sitting in the corner of a bedroom was a dehumidifier!  Bells and whistles for moisture problems!  I'm not suggesting the homeowner should have deceived the potential buyers.  It is just that there are potential potholes that a do-it-yourself stager may not see.

A pro sees them because that is why she is there.

We do pre-market staging, redesign, renovation and contract management.

STAGING!

If you are planning to try and sell a house in today's tough market, it will take a strong team to accomplish this task.  Part of that team should include professional stagers.  Barbara and Sami have worked with local real estate professionals for over six years in this field and are considered successful at what we do.  Our costs are small compared to the benefits a homeowner can receive from having his home made "ready to show" by our staging professionals.  Our properties sell!!

We begin with a consultation which includes a walk-through of the property where we use a check list and our keen eye to determine changes that need to be made the make the home more buyer friendly.  Following the visit, the homeowner may be presented with a written synopsis of our views for a minimal cost or they may engage our firm to complete the staging of the home.  There is a cost for the initial consultation but that is waived if we are engaged to complete the task.  In that case, we work on a flat fee hourly basis or in some cases we are willing to offer a contact price for the work.  If you want to DIY, we're OK with that and are even willing to make a second visit to critique your work.  If you want the job completely managed by the best team in this area, it is done.  You choose your course of action.

Email us at stager234@gmail.com and one of us will call you to discuss your options.
